Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to apply approved technologies and architectures to support growth and new services across its U.S. territory. You will be accountable for ensuring best-in-class customer experiences and coordinating across multiple business units.

The role focuses on planning, market strategies, and collaboration with Transport, Field Operations, and Engineering teams to deliver cost-effective network expansion and modernization in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in planning/engineering for telecom facilities (ISP/OSP).
• Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Develops plans for implementation of new telecom plant construction and modifications.
• Oversees network capacity trends and communicates actions to leadership.
• Defines market-level strategy for short- and long-term product/tech transformation.
• Supports cross-functional teams across transport, Field Ops & Implementation, and others.
• Prepares plans/specifications with field data and cost data for CAPEX budgeting.
• Monitors and controls project expenditures and oversees installation/testing.
