Job summary

CIVILGEAR, LLC is seeking a Planning Director with 10+ years of experience to lead and grow the planning and land use practice in Naples, FL. The role collaborates with clients, municipalities, and project teams to advance entitlements from due diligence through permitting, design, and completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Environmental Studies, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible professional experience in planning, land use, entitlements, or land development.
• AICP certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead CIVILGEAR’s planning, zoning, entitlement, and land use services for various land development projects.
• Evaluate properties during development to identify zoning requirements and entitlement needs.
• Manage rezoning applications, comprehensive plan amendments, variances, and other land use approvals.
• Prepare planning reports, project narratives, and supporting documentation.
• Research and apply municipal land development codes, comprehensive plans, and zoning regulations.
• Develop entitlement strategies and provide guidance on approvals and schedules.
• Coordinate with clients, municipal staff, regulatory agencies, and project team members.
• Represent CIVILGEAR at public hearings, neighborhood meetings, and other government meetings.
• Lead meetings with municipal staff, clients, and public audiences.
