Overview

ExxonMobil is seeking a Senior Planning and Scheduling Engineer to support an internal program migrating work from global facilities into India. This role owns the project schedule and the progress measurement system for the migration, building a resource loaded schedule in MS Project or Primavera and tracking it against the planning baseline across a large, dispersed set of workstreams. The Senior Planning and Scheduling Engineer identifies deviations from the planning basis early, forecasts their downstream impact on the schedule, and gives project leadership the insight and options they need to keep the migration on track and capital efficient. This is an internally resourced project, and oil and gas specific planning experience is not required, candidates with experience planning and scheduling internal work or workforce migration programs are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain a resource loaded schedule in MS Project or Primavera covering all workstreams of the migration program.

  • Develop, monitor, control, and integrate the overall project schedule, including the progress measurement system, verification, and reporting.
  • Identify deviations from the planning basis and forecast their impact on the schedule and on capital efficiency.
  • Support project leadership with clear insight into schedule issues, trends, and potential solutions, distilling complex schedule data into management ready summaries.
  • Review workstream and contractor schedules for logic, level of detail, input sources, timing, and consistency with the Current Control Estimate, Work Breakdown Structure, and Project Plan.
  • Establish schedule requirements and the frequency of issue for all schedule deliverables across workstreams.
  • Maintain regular contact with project teams and the functional organization, including close liaison with planning engineers embedded in individual project teams.
  • Provide direction, feedback, and mentoring to project planning and control engineers on schedule aspects of their workstreams.
  • Drive and promote capital efficiency across Project Services and stewarded projects.
  • Identify bottlenecks and troubleshoot schedule issues in partnership with global stakeholders and management.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
  • 10 or more years of experience in project controls with planning and scheduling as a core capability, not a tangential responsibility.
  • Hands on experience building and maintaining resource loaded schedules in MS Project or Primavera.
  • Technical discipline certifications commensurate with work experience.
  • Strong influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex schedule data for a broad management audience.
  • Ability to multitask and respond quickly to urgent analysis requests, and to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willing to work onsite full time, relocate to the required project site, and travel internationally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience planning and scheduling internal work or workforce migration programs, such as transitioning functions or headcount between global locations, is strongly preferred over oil and gas specific planning experience.
