Job summary

Nooksack Indian Tribe is seeking a Planner III to support the Planning Department with land use research, community planning, and project review. The role involves field work, mapping, technical analysis, and collaboration with Tribal departments, staff, and partner agencies while respecting tribal culture.

The position emphasizes preparing clear reports, maintaining schedules, and ensuring projects comply with timelines and requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Land Use Planning, Community Development, or related field; or
• Associate’s degree + four years related responsibilities; or
• Eight years directly related experience; Native American experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Tribal departments and external agencies.
• Analyze planning issues and provide guidance to Tribal Council.
• Review projects for permitting, zoning, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop schematic drawings, maps, and technical reports.
• Prepare reports and recommendations on land use and environment.
