Job summary

The Nooksack Indian Tribe Planning Department is seeking a Planner III to support land use research, community planning, and project review. You will conduct fieldwork, mapping, and technical analyses while coordinating with Tribal departments, community members, and partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Land Use Planning, Community Development, or related field; or
• Associate’s degree with four years of related responsibilities; or eight years of related experience.
• Two years of experience working with Native Americans or a Native American organization preferred.
• Must have and maintain a valid Washington State Driver’s License and insurability—driving abstract may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal and external agencies and tribal departments.
• Analyze and monitor planning issues and advise Tribal Council as appropriate.
• Review project plans; advise on permitting, zoning, and regulations.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and compliant with requirements.
• Write RFPs/RFQs and support interagency reporting and follow-through.
