You will research, analyze, prepare reports, and present recommendations on planning issues, while coordinating with city staff and commissions. Responsibilities include evaluating land development proposals, reviewing development agreements, preparing maps and exhibits with GIS and Adobe tools, and communicating findings to Planning Commission and City

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in urban planning or related field.
• 4–6 years municipal planning experience.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive experience preparing and reviewing land use entitlement applications for a California Public Agency.
• Evaluate complex land development proposals (Pre-Applications, General Plan amendments, Text Amendments, Rezonings, Conditional Use Permits, Variances, Annexations, land subdivisions and other development requests).
• Reviews and provides recommendations on Development Agreements and Maintenance Improvement Districts.
• Formulates staff recommendations and conditions.
• Presents findings and recommendations before the approving body (Planning Commission, City Council).
• Prepares and manages maps, exhibits, aerial photographs, GIS and Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint presentations with staff reports.
