Job summary

The City of Chula Vista is seeking a Senior Planner to lead complex planning and environmental review work, performing studies, analyses and technical assessments for planning projects. You will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements and assist in interpreting environmental policies and regulations.

Vacancies exist in Development Services and Housing and Homeless Services. A 5% salary adjustment is planned in January 2027, reflecting the advanced level of responsibility

Qualifications

• Four years of increasingly responsible experience in planning involving city and/or regional planning work, including environmental-related program assignments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform complex planning and environmental work on various projects.
• Review General Plan updates, GDPs, SPA plans, and environmental documents.
• Prepare reports, recommendations, and presentations; manage consultant contracts.
