Job summary

The Maryland Public Service Commission seeks a Senior Advisor to the Commissioners to lead policy analysis on PJM Interconnection and FERC matters affecting Maryland. The role requires strong research, analytic writing, and clear communications to support Commissioners in decision-making on energy policy, regulation, and market issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in engineering, economics, law, or related degree.
  • Four years of experience performing legal, utility, energy, engineering, or economic policy analysis or related duties.
  • Two years of experience working on issues related to PJM and/or FERC.
  • Note: An advanced degree may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Providing support, assistance and recommendations in matters relating to energy, focused on FERC and PJM, and in other matters before the Commission.
  • Participating in Commissioner meetings, administrative meetings, and hearings.
  • Participating in relevant meetings, stakeholder groups, and proceedings related to PJM and before FERC.
  • Preparing reports and handling sensitive projects for the Commissioners.
