Job summary

Clayco, in collaboration with LJC Design & Engineering, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Stress Analysis Engineer to lead piping stress analysis and mechanical integrity efforts for industrial facilities. You will mentor junior engineers, review calculations, and ensure designs meet ASME codes and client standards.

Responsibilities span from conceptual design through construction support, startup, and commissioning, with emphasis on safety, constructability, and collaboration across

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years progressive mechanical engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years of piping stress analysis experience in industrial or process facilities.
• PE license preferred; required for sealing calculations on applicable projects.
• Experience supporting pharmaceutical, chemical, manufacturing, or life sciences projects is preferred.
• Experience from conceptual design through construction and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced piping flexibility and stress analyses using CAESAR II or equivalent.
• Develop and validate piping stress models for thermal expansion, seismic, wind, pressure, deadweight, vibration.
• Evaluate nozzle loads and equipment interface forces for pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, and packaged equipment.
• Review P&IDs, equipment layouts, isometrics, and 3D models for mechanical integrity and constructability.
• Mentor junior engineers and review calculations and deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure code compliance and constructability.
