Mesa Associates, Inc. seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to serve as the senior advisor for Piping & Pressure Systems. You will verify code compliance, mentor engineers, and guide project reviews across generation, industrial, and government clients.

Lead by example with deep piping and pressure vessel expertise, focusing on checking work rather than producing most designs. Strong communication and collaboration are essential for this technical leadership role.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and PE License are required.
15+ years of piping design and pressure vessel engineering in the power industry.
Experience checking and improving others' work and coaching engineers.
Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
Proven ability to verify code compliance and lead technical reviews.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical checker for piping and pressure vessel designs, calculations, and drawings; verify code compliance.
Review detailed stress analyses and vessel calculations on major projects.
Advise engineers on code questions, design approaches and problem solving.
Perform spot checks and field verifications to confirm design assumptions.
Mentor engineers, coach on code compliance, stress analysis and best practices.
