Job summary

Zachry Group in Omaha, NE seeks a Senior Piping Drafter to translate design concepts into detailed construction drawings, develop plot plans, layouts, and P&IDs, and support field documentation.

You will work with piping drawings, review revisions, and coordinate with project teams. Travel to field assignments is expected; strong AutoCAD skills and knowledge of piping components are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or associate degree in drafting or related field.
• 4+ years of piping drafting experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and piping drawings like P&IDs.
• Knowledge of pipe supports, components and fittings.
• Familiarity with drafting standards and revision control.
• Willingness to travel for field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Develop plot plans, equipment layouts, flow diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Create piping plans and isometrics from layouts or sketches.
• Incorporate revisions based on design and checker feedback.
• Translate design concepts into detailed construction drawings.
• Add piping details and notes based on P&IDs.
• Prepare bills of materials and tie-in lists.
• Produce sections and detailed 2D annotations.
• Perform valve take-offs and review drawing changes.
• Support document control, revisions, and field documentation.
