Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Denver is seeking a Senior Piping Designer to lead planning, design and documentation across multiple project phases. You will ensure compliance with codes, interface with clients and engineers, and mentor junior designers.

The role requires strong 3D CAD capabilities (CADWorx, Plant 3D, AutoCAD), plus Navisworks and 2D drafting. You will develop procedures, produce isometrics, review PFDs and P&IDs, and lead model reviews with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in drafting or related field with 13+ years of experience; or Associate's with 14+ years; or 15 years progressive detailing and design experience.
• Expert understanding of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel to develop design deliverables.
• Expert knowledge in 2D and 3D design applications and related disciplines.
• Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team to resolve design or drawing issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead a variety of assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques.
• Prepare CAD Procedures at the beginning of each project.
• Develop modeled solutions using3D CAD systems aligned to Process Piping discipline.
• Lead training and mentoring of junior designers.
• Quality review PFDs and P&IDs and lead design QA/QC processes.
• Lead model reviews with clients using Navisworks.
