Job summary

Stratus has partnered with Kestrel Engineering and is seeking a Sr. Piping Designer to lead piping design across projects.

You will coordinate with other engineering disciplines, review client 3D models, and prepare construction drawings and specifications. The role requires strong proficiency in AutoCAD, CADWorx, NavisWorks, and 3D modeling, with experience in heavy industrial environments and field documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in related discipline preferred. Candidates without a degree, but with exceptional experience, will also be considered
• Experience in 3D laser scanning coordination and data management is preferred
• Significant heavy industrial (Refining, power, chemical, etc.) design/drafting experience is required with demonstrated capabilities with equipment layout, and mechanical and piping design associated with retrofit projects
• Candidates must be able to develop and read P&IDs and identify items (e.g., process equipment, tanks/vessels, valves, instruments, pipe, pipe supports, and structural steel) in the field. Demonstrated field documentation experience required
• High proficiency in using AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel. 3D design and modeling experience with CADWorx required. Revit & Plant 3D experience will also be considered
• High degree of familiarity with NavisWorks and demonstrated capability leading client 3D model reviews
• Strong communication skills, with ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment
• Capable of working directly with clients from proposal development through project execution

The Role
