Stratus is seeking a Mechanical/Plumbing Designer in Manhattan to focus on HVAC and/or plumbing/fire-protection systems for built environment projects, with emphasis on sustainable design. You will survey existing systems, perform energy calculations, and prepare documentation for Project Manager review.
The role requires 2–4 years of mechanical engineering experience on building projects, knowledge of NYC codes, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

PVEDI has recently partnered with Stratus and we’re hiring a Mechanical/Plumbing Designer. This role will focus on the d esign of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and/or plumbing/fire-protection services within the built environment, with an emphasis on sustainable design.Surveying and inspecting existing mechanical, plumbing, and fire-protection systems, as well as other energy-impacting components that impact building operations and energy consumption. Perform energy calculations and long-term sustainability analysis for construction upgrades to existing building systems. Reviewing the ongoing work of contractors for the completion of project activities (field and office) and preparing summary documentation (reports, correspondence, verbal communication) for Project Manager review. Digital drafting, calculations, and design of construction projects and document preparation for Project Manager review.
