Job summary

Evonik Corporation is seeking a Senior Piping Designer in Mobile, AL to lead piping and plant layout design for capital projects. You will develop layouts, prepare construction packages, and collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and external firms to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions.

The role requires ~10 years of piping design experience in chemical/petrochemical environments, hands-on use of AVEVA E3D, CAESAR II, AutoCAD, and related tools, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Associate degree or completion of a technical drafting or design apprenticeship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred for this role.
• Approximately 10 years of layout and piping design experience in chemical/petrochemical environments is strongly preferred.
• Experience leading piping discipline on large capital projects and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop piping project estimates to establish costs and schedules.
• Develop process plant layouts and preliminary designs for economical, practical solutions.
• Perform detailed piping and mechanical design to produce design and construction packages.
• Lead model and design reviews and coordinate with engineers and suppliers.
• Plan and oversee piping design activities performed by third-party resources.
