Job summary

Worley’s Pipeline Systems team in Denver seeks a Principal Mapping Designer to lead high‑level pipeline mapping and design efforts across upstream, midstream, and distribution projects. You will drive technical excellence, oversee deliverables, and mentor designers in a hybrid Denver setting.

You will apply Civil 3D and GIS tools to optimize routing, permitting, and constructability while coordinating with multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver safe, sustainable solutions for North America.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of experience supporting pipeline mapping and design projects.
• Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D (2018 or newer) in a pipeline design environment.
• Strong working knowledge of ArcGIS, geospatial databases, mapping systems, and digital geospatial workflows.
• Experience utilizing Skyline and Microsoft Access is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of route selection, pipeline development, right-of-way planning, and permitting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Design Manager and technical lead for large-scale pipeline projects, overseeing mapping scope, quality, schedule, and delivery.
• Lead development, review, and approval of pipeline mapping deliverables (strip maps, alignment sheets, permit drawings, etc.).
• Perform advanced pipeline mapping and corridor design using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Apply GIS and geospatial technologies to support routing studies and project execution.
• Coordinate with customers, survey teams, engineers, and construction teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Mentor junior designers and promote technical excellence across multidisciplinary teams.
