Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Houston, TX, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to provide technical leadership for pipeline and facilities projects across North America. You will guide cross-disciplinary teams on natural gas transmission, LNG, RNG, and related energy infrastructure, ensuring safety, reliability, and quality.

The role emphasizes mentoring engineers, supporting project delivery from FEED to startup, and collaborating with clients to identify innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years of experience delivering natural gas, liquids, hydrogen, LNG, RNG, and/or energy infrastructure projects.
• Experience supporting interstate pipeline projects and regulatory processes, including FERC and PHMSA requirements.
• Strong understanding of pipeline design, facility engineering, project delivery, and construction practices.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong project delivery, client management, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to support business development and proposal efforts.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for pipeline and facilities projects across North America.
• Review engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, design documentation, and construction deliverables.
• Support development and implementation of engineering standards and quality management processes.
• Partner with Project Managers to ensure successful delivery of engineering services.
• Develop client relationships and participate in technical workshops, design reviews, and project meetings.
• Mentor developing engineers and contribute to staffing plans and delivery strategies.
