Job summary

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Senior Construction Manager – Professional Engineer in Houston or Pearland, Texas to lead construction management for large-diameter pipeline projects in the Houston area. You will provide technical and project leadership from preconstruction through closeout, guide project teams and build strong relationships with owners, contractors and design teams.

You will also regularly drive to construction sites throughout the Houston area, mentoring staff and supporting

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
15+ years of relevant construction experience as a construction manager or superintendent.
Proficiency with project management information systems and ability to mentor others in their use.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of delivery methods.

Responsibilities

Lead construction management for large pipeline projects as project manager or technical lead.
Oversee construction observation, inspections, sampling, testing, and nonconforming work resolution.
Review contractor work for contract compliance and coordinate with design teams on RFI, submittals and issues.
Manage change orders, schedules, claims, pay requests, meetings, and closeout activities.
Facilitate pre-bid, preconstruction, and construction meetings and maintain clear owner-contractor-team communication.
Advise clients on needs, risk and delivery decisions while fostering long-term relationships.
Lead and develop staff through planning, coaching, performance feedback, and direction.
Support business development, teaming, risk management for projects.
