Job summary

Qualifications

• Possess a valid State Journeyman's Plumber's license.
• Maintenance work experience in plumbing & pipefitting.
• Graduate of a state certified plumbing or pipefitting apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
• Ability to perform service at a Commercial/Industrial Facility.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if hired.
• Must be able to work overtime and shifts in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Backflow Protection Assembly Tester certification.

Responsibilities

• Installs, assembles, repairs and maintains steam, water, gas, oil, air, waste treatment, and plumbing lines, systems and accessories.
• Determines routing and location of lines, accessories, and equipment such as inlets, outlets, vent pipes, valves, meters, gauges, hangers, brackets, water, sewer gas, air and other connections.
• Computes kind, size and amount of pipe connections and other materials necessary when this information is not furnished.
• Installs and tests sanitary plumbing fixtures and related equipment.
• Performs troubleshooting, diagnosing, and corrective action on major breakdowns and system issues.
• Performs functional tests and preventative maintenance to ensure trouble-free operation.
• Makes minor repairs to pipe insulation.
• Installs backflow prevention devices and conducts function tests as certified.
• Directs, instructs and assists other employees in related work activities.
