Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or Vocational School Diploma.
• Eight or more years of relevant experience.
• Preferred: completion of a pipefitting apprenticeship.
• Preferred: Associate's degree in a related field.
• Valid Georgia Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair mechanical piping systems across campus facilities.
• Read, interpret, and work from architectural and mechanical drawings, piping schematics, and technical documentation.
• Perform hot work, including welding and oxyacetylene cutting, producing certifiable welds.
• Inspect, test, and maintain piping control systems and instrumentation; conduct pressure tests and inspections.
• Operate and maintain machine tools, maintenance equipment, and tools as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering, custodial, and other trades staff on construction, renovations, and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain records of work orders, materials, and inspections.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
