Job summary

Georgia Tech, a top-ranked public research university in Atlanta, seeks a Mechanical Engineering professional to plan and manage operation, maintenance, and replacement of campus mechanical systems including HVAC, steam, and sewers. You will collaborate with staff, project managers, and vendors to develop long-term replacement and annual execution plans.

Role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field, 6–8 years of experience, and ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Overnight travel required; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours.
• Six to eight years of job related experience.
• FE or EIT certified; Georgia Professional Engineering License or LEED Certification.
• Master's Degree in related field (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support and assist the Utilities and Power Plant Superintendents in the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Develop and manage replacement and repair projects for mechanical components and systems with in-house and contract services.
• Maintain a campus 1-year equipment replacement plan; develop the annual MRR execution plan.
• Assist area managers to solve issues involving Mechanical systems.
• Define training needs and provide or coordinate training services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
