Job summary

STSI (Staffing Technical Services Inc.) is seeking a Pipe Stress Engineer for a 6-12+ month contract in Austin, TX. The role can be onsite or hybrid, with a focus on piping flexibility, codes, and computational stress analyses for advanced manufacturing facilities.

You will review P&IDs, perform CAESAR II/NozzlePRO analyses, select supports, and generate BOMs while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure fabrication-ready designs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years pipe stress experience in chemical/high-tech environments.
• PE registration in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for pipe stress analysis and pipe support design.
• Review P&IDs and thermal input sheets to define analyses.
• Perform CAESAR II and NozzlePRO analyses to resolve nozzle loads.
• Select springs, expansion joints, snubbers, and supports.
• Review isometrics, shop drawings, and material submittals.
• Communicate design impacts and risks to stakeholders.
• Improve engineering workflows and standards.
