Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking a Piping Stress Analysis Engineer in Johnson City, TN. You will perform piping stress analyses, evaluate layouts, and ensure compliance with ASME B31.3 and project specs.

The role requires CAESAR II proficiency, a PE license, and experience with complex industrial systems. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and field-ready documentation is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Active PE license – TN or reciprocity.
• CAESAR II piping stress software proficiency.
• Experience with piping stress, flexibility, and structural evaluations.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31 piping codes (B31.3).
• Experience with thermal expansion, pressure, seismic, and vibration loads.

Responsibilities

• Perform piping stress and flexibility analyses using CAESAR II.
• Evaluate piping systems under sustained, thermal, occasional, and dynamic loads.
• Analyze pipe stresses, nozzle loads, supports, and expansion requirements.
• Develop and review piping stress calculations and reports.
• Review layouts and recommend modifications for flexibility and integrity.
• Design and evaluate pipe supports, restraints, anchors, and expansions.
• Coordinate with designers, engineers, and vendors to resolve issues.
• Review models, isometrics, P&IDs, and equipment specs for compliance.
• Perform evaluations for modifications, installations, and field changes.
• Ensure compliance with ASME codes and project specs.
