Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Pilot Plant Technician II for a leading sustainable materials tech enterprise. You will operate and optimize continuous and batch processing equipment, monitor control systems, and perform inline quality testing.

We seek 5–8 years of hands-on chemical pilot plant experience, with strong mechanical aptitude and data integrity skills. Safety and SOP improvements are part of the role, with career growth across process scale-up efforts.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of hands-on operations in chemical pilot plant or related environment.
• Working understanding of industrial reaction chemistry and instrumentation.
• Strong mechanical maintenance capabilities across pumps, valves, piping, and vessels.
• Experience applying structured problem-solving (5 Whys, Fishbone, SPC).
• Ability to read PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment schematics with data accuracy.
• Safety certifications such as OSHA 10/30 or HAZWOPER preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, run, and adjust chemical process equipment including reactors and mixers within limits.
• Track real-time process trends on control panels and logs; identify deviations.
• Draw samples, perform quality checks, and support yield improvements.
• Carry out routine inspections, line servicing, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Assist in SOP updates, root-cause investigations, and Kaizen activities.
