Job summary

CJ Schwan’s in Minnesota is seeking a Pilot Plant Technician who will operate and maintain the pilot plant, document activities, and support product development and operations with data and testing.

You will ensure sanitation, calibration, and certification readiness while mentoring other technicians and coordinating with cross-functional teams. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• AA or equivalent required.
• 3+ years related experience.
• Good working knowledge of manufacturing practices.
• Familiarity with FDA/USDA/OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pilot plant equipment and documentation.
• Maintain maintenance and sanitation records.
• Schedule and coordinate lab inspections for certifications.
• Develop and conduct training for new processes and products.
• Evaluate formulas and processes for cost savings and improvements.
• Support commercialization and installation of new equipment.
• Mentor technicians in operation and maintenance.
• Assist Product Development and Operations with data gathering.
• Manage pilot plant operations and equipment.
• Place purchase orders and coordinate ingredient delivery.
• Document work per procedures and report project status.
• Develop programs to improve efficiency and quality.
• Provide technical support to Product Development and Operations.
