CJ Schwan’s is seeking an experienced technician to operate and maintain its pilot plant, ensuring instruments are calibrated, documented, and compliant with FDA/USDA/OSHA standards. You will coordinate training, support product development, and drive process improvements.

Key duties include developing experimental techniques, calculating cost improvements, and mentoring others while coordinating with product teams for new product introductions.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent in a related field or hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of related experience in a lab or pilot plant environment.
• Knowledge of FDA, USDA, and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to operate and calibrate lab instruments and equipment.
• Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.

Responsabilités

• Operate and maintain pilot plant, ensuring instruments are calibrated and functional.
• Maintain maintenance and sanitation records and certifications.
• Schedule and coordinate lab inspections and certifications.
• Develop training programs with Product Development and Process Engineering.
• Evaluate formulas, identify improvement opportunities, and propose solutions.
• Support commercialization of new products and equipment kick-off.
• Mentor technicians in operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Collect and disseminate testing and production data for projects.
