Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or materials science with 5–7+ years related experience.
• Military/aerospace industry experience preferred.
• Piezoelectric applications and/or vibration analysis essential.
• Mechanical engineering and materials science knowledge including materials, fasteners, welding, dynamics, prototyping, debugging.
• Experience with design and test of mechanical systems under thermal, vibration and shock stresses.
• Hands-on testing, fixture design, test execution and reporting.
• Proficiency with CAD tools – SolidWorks preferred.
• Finite element analysis desirable; ability to run simulations in SolidWorks/ANSYS.
• Ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Act as project engineer for piezoelectric sensor programs with cross-functional teams.
• Review customer specifications to design, develop and qualify sensors.
• Collaborate with production staff to resolve sensor design and material issues.
• Prepare documentation communicating requirements and designs to stakeholders.
• Support qualification testing including vibration, temperature and environmental tests.
• Determine root causes using statistical methods and propose design changes.
• Interface with suppliers and external customers.
