Job summary

PI (Physik Instrumente), LP in Shrewsbury, MA seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Piezo to design and optimize high‑precision mechanical systems and motion instruments from concept through production. You will own mechanical design execution, run analyses, and deliver robust parts for demanding applications.

You will collaborate with electrical and controls teams, develop 3D CAD models, ensure GD&T compliance, and lead prototype testing to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or mechatronic systems with precision motion.
• Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software for complex assemblies and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical components, subassemblies, and system architectures for high‑precision motion instruments across full product development cycles.
• Own mechanical design execution from concept through production release, including decisions and validation.
• Develop advanced 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and design documentation with GD&T.
