Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, is seeking a physician to lead primary care services at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). The position follows a Monday-Friday schedule, 8:00am-4:30pm, with responsibilities across clinical care, supervision, and coordination of patient workloads.

The role includes directing primary care teams, ensuring quality care for veterans, supervising physicians and staff, and participating in system-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• US citizenship requirement; non-citizens only when VA recruiting is not possible.
• MD degree from a school approved by VA for the year completed.
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
• Completed residency in an approved core specialty leading to board eligibility/certification.
• Board certification or eligibility; faculty status may require certification.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Preferred: prior VA experience and primary care/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform and record history and physical examinations for clinic visits.
• Evaluate, consult, diagnose, and manage the primary care panel.
• Enter progress notes and complete workload documentation timely.
• Provide medical care for acute and chronic conditions and preventive care.
• Order tests, medications, and labs as medically relevant for each patient.
• Educate patients on conditions and treatments; advise on prevention.
• Consult other specialties as appropriate and supervise PCPs at the CBOC.
• Oversee leave requests, timecards, and provider scheduling.

Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree

Current full and unrestricted medical license in the United States
