Job summary

MedKoder, LLC seeks a Physician Coding Auditor to review professional multi-specialty services and ensure accurate reimbursement per Medicare, Medicaid, and payer guidelines. The role audits CPT/ICD-10-CM coding, evaluates documentation quality, and prepares customized education for clients, remotely or on-site, emphasizing expert E&M and surgical coding.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of physician coding experience and 3 years of auditing experience.
• Active AHIMA or AAPC certification required; CPMA preferred.
• Subject matter expert on E&M and Surgical coding; knowledge of CPT/ICD-10-CM and payer policies.
• Experience presenting or educating providers in person or virtually.
• Ability to work independently with strong time management and research skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows; Google Workspace preferred.
• Experience with multiple EMRs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional compliance audits of coding and documentation across multiple specialties.
• Apply CPT/ICD-10-CM guidelines and payer policies.
• Accurate selection of CPT codes and modifiers; evaluate ICD-10-CM diagnoses.
• Score audits using proper methodology and identify risk areas.
• Prepare and present education materials and audit follow-up education to clients.
• Communicate findings to Physician Audit and Education Manager and clients.
• Stay current on coding guidelines and credentials; maintain confidentiality.
