Job summary

Med-Metrix is seeking a Physician Advisor II to lead the Physician Advisor team, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality, compliant case reviews across patient care. The role collaborates with medical leadership to optimize hospital resource use, length of stay, and documentation practices.

The position emphasizes professional judgment, utilization management, and staff education to maintain regulatory compliance and drive continuous quality improvement across PA services.

Qualifications

• Must hold an unrestricted medical license in the United States.
• Board-certified in a medical specialty.
• Minimum 3 years as a Physician Advisor or UR/UM Medical Director.

Responsibilities

• Responds to requests for clinical reviews on medical necessity in a timely fashion.
• Provides consultation to attendings, nurses, and case management on complex clinical issues.
• Applies standard criteria (MCG/InterQual) with professional judgment and patient variables.
• Maintains accountability for case management outcomes and supports medical staff in care progression.
• Describes ways to improve health record documentation impacting ICD, DRG, and coding.
