Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Petaluma, CA is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide patient care under supervision of the Director and clinical leadership. The role emphasizes clinical instruction, staff mentorship, and participation in department initiatives to improve care delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience, CA PT license, and an active NPI. BLS certification is required; knowledge of federal/state regulations and labor/management partnerships is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy curriculum with a Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral degree and PT certification (foreign trained equivalent accepted).
• Licensed Physical Therapist in California required at hire; National Provider Identifier (NPI) required at hire; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Assumes responsibility as outlined in the Physical Therapist's job summary and responsibilities.
• Provides department in-service as requested by management (e.g., journal club presentation).
• Serves as a clinical instructor as requested by management.
• Assists in orientation and training of employees as needed.
• Provides consultation to staff.
• May mentor staff and contribute to clinical competency discussions.
• Monitors contract therapists and patient care in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities.
• Performs other duties within the scope of practice.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assumes the responsibility as outlined in the Physical Therapists job summary and responsibilities.
• Provides department in-service as requested by management (e.g., journal club presentation, and or regular in-service presentation).
• Serves as a clinical instructor as requested by management.
• Assists in orientation and training of employees as needed.
• Provides consultation to staff.
• May act as a mentor for staff.
• May provide input into the clinical competency of staff.
• Identifies process Improvement opportunities.
• May assist in the development and implementation of new clinical practice models for the delivery of care.
• Participates in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.
• May be involved in the clinical competency of PTAs and Rehab Aides.
• May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities
• Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

• Minimum of (2) years experience as a Physical Therapist.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy curriculum with a Bachelor or Master or Doctoral degree with certification in physical therapy or foreign trained equivalent.

License, Certification, Registration

• Physical Therapist License (California) required at hire
• National Provider Identifier required at hire
• Basic Life Support
