Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide therapy services under supervision, and to act as a clinical instructor when needed. The role includes mentoring staff, leading in-service trainings, and assisting with orientation and training programs.

Ideal candidates will contribute to performance improvements, participate in clinical model development, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. BLS and NPI are required at hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy curriculum with bachelor, master, or doctoral degree and PT certification.
• Licensed Physical Therapist in California at hire; NPI required at hire; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under supervision of the director or designee.
• Lead department in-services and clinical instruction as requested by management.
• Participate in orientation, training, and staff consultations.
• Mentor staff and contribute to staff competency and training.
• Identify process improvements and participate in performance improvement projects.
• Monitor contract therapists and Kaiser/non-Kaiser patient care as needed.
• Performs other duties within scope of practice.

Job Summary:

Provides physical therapy services for patients under the direction and supervision of the Director, Assistant Director, and or Clinical Supervisor or designee.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assumes the responsibility as outlined in the Physical Therapists job summary and responsibilities.
• Provides department in-service as requested by management (e.g., journal club presentation, and or regular in-service presentation).
• Serves as a clinical instructor as requested by management.
• Assists in orientation and training of employees as needed.
• Provides consultation to staff.
• May act as a mentor for staff.
• May provide input into the clinical competency of staff.
• Identifies process Improvement opportunities.
• May assist in the development and implementation of new clinical practice models for the delivery of care.
• Participates in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.
• May be involved in the clinical competency of PTAs and Rehab Aides.
• May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities
• Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

• Minimum of (2) years experience as a Physical Therapist.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy curriculum with a Bachelor or Master or Doctoral degree with certification in physical therapy or foreign trained equivalent.

License, Certification, Registration

• Physical Therapist License (California) required at hire

• National Provider Identifier required at hire

• Basic Life Support

Additional Requirements:

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements
• Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• APTA Certified Clinical Instructor preferred
