Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Physical Therapist II (PT II) to evaluate and develop therapy plans of care for a broad range of diagnoses. This experienced therapist provides education to patients and families, collaborates with interprofessional teams, and serves as a preceptor and mentor to staff, students, and clinical fellows.

The role emphasizes safety, high-quality patient outcomes, and participation in quality initiatives and process improvements within the department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved education program with the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.
• Two years of experience as a Physical Therapist; or completion of HM or comparable Physical Therapy Residency program.
• BLS – Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) and PT licensure in Texas; compact license acceptable per ECPTOTE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive evaluation of patients across a broad range of diagnoses and acuities to determine the treatment plan.
• Provides education to patients, families, and caregivers and mentors staff and students.
• Collaborates with interprofessional care team to adjust plans and achieve patient goals.
• Contributes to quality metrics and analytics and participates in process improvement initiatives.
