Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Physical Therapist II to evaluate and develop therapy plans for a broad range of diagnoses and acuities. This role includes educating patients and families, mentoring less experienced staff, and collaborating with the interprofessional team to resolve clinical and ethical issues and advance patient outcomes.

The PT II will participate in quality metrics and process improvements, serving as a clinical resource and preceptor while delivering safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates ability to communicate with patients, physicians, families and coworkers with a customer-service mindset.
• Fluency in English for safety-critical patient care and documentation.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational and prioritization skills.
• Leads teamwork and mentors staff and students as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete and comprehensive evaluation of patients to identify function and plan care.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers, and serve as clinical resource to fellows and students.
• Collaborate with interprofessional care team to adjust plan and meet goals.
• Balance caseload to optimize patient outcomes and drive department performance.
