Job summary

Vultr is hiring a Physical Security Design Engineer to own design, integration, and ongoing support of security systems across new data centers and upgrades. You will work closely with architects, contractors, IT, and SOC teams to ensure compliant, scalable security infrastructure.

The role requires floor plan fluency, NFPA/NEC knowledge, and experience with access control and video platforms. Strong coordination and problem-solving skills are essential for a fast-growing data center portfolio.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in physical security systems design/engineering (access control, video/CCTV, intrusion detection, perimeter protection).
• Strong understanding of door hardware integration with security systems (electrified exit devices, strikes, magnetic locks).
• Fluent in floor plans with Genetec and other platforms; IT/network integration knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and produce security design sets for access control, CCTV, intrusion, intercom, and perimeter protection.
• Create architecture drawings, network diagrams, and technical requirements/specifications.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and integrators to meet standards and regulations.
• Ensure designs align with security roadmaps and SOC tools integration; support API-based integrations.
• Provide ongoing technical support, health monitoring, and post-handover assistance.
