Job summary

ByteDance's Infra-Compute division is expanding into Physical AI, building data pipelines, simulation, model training, and heterogeneous deployment for robotics and multimodal systems. The team collaborates with researchers, open-source communities, and hardware partners to turn research into reliable, scalable systems.

As a senior engineer, you will own design and delivery of major platform components, mentor engineers, and drive projects from concept to production while balancing performance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering, ML systems, robotics, or related field.
• Strong software and systems engineering fundamentals for production-scale distributed or data-intensive systems.
• Deep expertise in at least one area: Robotic learning, AI training/inference infrastructure, or robotics data/simulation.

Responsibilities

• Own design, implementation, validation, and operation of major components within a Physical AI platform across data pipelines, simulation, model training, evaluation, inference, and deployment.
• Develop scalable infrastructure for training and serving multimodal and robotics models.
• Translate research ideas into production-ready capabilities with clear reliability, performance, and quality targets.
• Lead technical design for complex projects, balance performance, reliability, cost, and delivery speed, drive production adoption.
• Collaborate with adjacent teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to shared architecture and standards.
