Job summary

Pivotal Solutions Inc. in Raleigh, NC seeks a Sr. Software Developer to join an Agile team building order management systems centered on PHP/MySQL.

You will design, implement, and maintain features, write tests, deploy with containerization, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable software.

Experience with Laminas/Zend, Laravel, or Symfony, AWS, Docker, and modern CI/CD is valued; bachelor's degree plus 3+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least three years of related experience, or equivalent combination.
• PHP 8.x proficiency required.
• An MVC framework such as Laminas/Zend, Laravel, or Symfony is expected.
• Experience with AWS and distributed work queues (SQS, EventBridge).
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployments (AWS).
• Familiar with Git and RDBMS optimization (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL).
• Experience with front-end Vue/TypeScript is a plus; testing with PHPUnit/Pest/Cypress/Playwright encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Agile environment to analyze, design, develop, deploy, and support applications.
• Write well‑designed, testable code with containerized deployments and CI testing.
• Break down work, estimate tasks, and provide just‑in‑time design.
• Provide direction and share knowledge with teammates.
• Participate in weekly sprint cycles.
• Keep stakeholders informed via the issue management system.
• Support day‑to‑day operations of e‑commerce applications.
• Collaborate with end users to solve problems and fix downtime.
• Engage with internal APIs and cross‑functional teams.
