SciPlay is hiring a Lead Software Engineer for Gold Fish Casino Slots. This hands-on role requires deep PHP expertise and a track record leading production systems. You’ll set technical standards, mentor engineers, and help prioritize work across two levels of scope.

You’ll work with engineering leadership on roadmaps and contribute to the admin tooling stack (PHP backend, jQuery, Vue.js). AI is a power tool, not a replacement for engineering judgment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant time as a senior or lead engineer on a production system.
• Deep PHP, including Composer, dependency injection containers (Symfony DI or equivalent), and static analysis.
• Ability to set priorities at two levels: technical execution order and your own scope.
• Produce production-ready code with attention to load, failure modes, and reliability.
• Strong testing judgment: know when to write unit tests, heavier verification, or ship behind a feature flag.
• Experience leading or mentoring other engineers; code reviews set team standards.

Responsibilities

• Set technical standards by example and mentor mid-level engineers through complex work while writing code.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership on roadmap and tradeoffs.
• Write maintainable code and review others' work to improve team output.
• Influence the admin tooling stack: PHP backend with jQuery and Vue.js on the front end.
