Job summary

PINC Technologies Inc. is seeking a Senior Photonics Design Engineer to lead integrated photonics component design and validation.

You will drive the PIC development workflow, from layout to fabrication, in a fast-paced startup environment, collaborating across teams to deliver high-performance photonic solutions. The role requires deep expertise in linear photonics with familiarity in nonlinear optics and robust experimental/test capabilities, including setup and data analysis, with a Pasadena,

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required in Physics, EE, Optics, or related field.
• Extensive experience designing photonic integrated circuits with simulation tools.
• Familiar with full PIC workflow: layout (KLayout), fabrication, operation.
• Hands-on PIC fabrication and testing; fast-paced R&D experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, simulation, layout, and delivery of photonic components.
• Support nonlinear elements in integrated photonic products.
• Simulate devices using optical tools and analyze data for robustness.
• Perform tolerance and yield analysis; collaborate across teams.
• Develop test/qualification plans and contribute to external collaborations.
