Concord Hospital Health System seeks a skilled phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy and pre-analytic processing of specimens in a hospital laboratory. You will interact professionally with patients, clients, and staff, ensuring proper labeling and specimen handling from receipt to distribution to testing areas.

Responsibilities include specialized duties in dispatch, order entry, and quality measures, including CLIA waived and microbiology culture prep.

Formación

• Phlebotomy course and internship.
• 1–5 years in a hospital or laboratory setting that includes processing specimens.

Responsabilidades

• Follows established procedures to obtain quality blood specimens from a wide variety of patients using correct site, equipment and techniques.
• Narrates care and ensures positive patient identification before collecting specimens.
• Accurately labels specimens at the point of collection in the presence of the patient.
• Accurately orders laboratory tests in the Electronic Health Record.
• Maintains integrity of collected samples at the proper temperature and does minimal processing of collected samples.
• Performs specialized duties related to dispatch, order entry, phlebotomy, referrals, specimen setup, processing and testing functions, testing, quality measures and special studies.
• Performs CLIA waived and moderately complex patient testing and inoculates microbiology media for culture.
