Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, with relevant experience or licensure.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomist Certification is required.
• BLS certification (AHA) and HIV certification preferred.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively.
• Proficiency with office software and hospital/lab computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient phlebotomy using prescribed techniques.
• Prioritize hematology and oncology specimen processing.
• Manage pre-accession processes and proper labeling of orders.
• Adhere to patient identification procedures.
• Resolve questions about test requisitions and results.
• Maintain inventory control and stock rotation.
• Record statistics and generate routine reports.
• Prepare samples for shipping and accession data in the LIS.
• Provide senior-level guidance when supervisor is unavailable.
