The University of Miami UHealth Laboratories is seeking a Phlebotomist 3 in Hollywood, FL. The role draws and collects blood, verifies records, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis while interacting with patients to address age-specific needs.

The incumbent also uses hospital systems to accession data, prepare samples for shipping, and perform related tasks. As a lead resource, you will support workflow, troubleshoot collection issues, train staff, and ensure safety and quality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Phlebotomist Certification, BLS certification (AHA), HIV certification.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to engage with patients across ages.
• Technical proficiency with laboratory information systems and hospital software.

Responsabilités

• Performs patient phlebotomy using prescribed techniques.
• Prioritizes hematology and oncology sample processing.
• Organizes orders and labels for daily work.
• Follows patient identification procedures and test requisitions.
• Maintains inventory per protocol and keeps accurate logs.
• Assists supervisor with statistics, reports, and workflow improvements.
• Prepares samples for shipping and ensures proper packaging.
