Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Obtain venous and/or capillary blood specimens per procedures.
• Log and track specimens using the laboratory system.
• Operate basic lab equipment such as centrifuge and microscope.
• Communicate with lab and medical staff to identify and label specimens correctly.
• Respond to STAT phlebotomy requests when indicated.
• Stand for extended periods and walk as needed during phlebotomy tasks.
• Process specimens for testing per departmental procedures.
• Enter patient demographics into the lab computer system and manage records.
• Answer phone inquiries about test results and specimen status.
• Monitor pending orders to ensure timely collections.
