Job summary

Actalent in Portland, OR seeks a Phlebotomist II to perform venipuncture and specimen collection in a fast-paced clinical lab. You will label, process, and transport specimens while maintaining strict safety standards.

The role requires certified phlebotomy credentials, 6+ months venipuncture experience, and strong customer service. This onsite contract position includes a daytime schedule with occasional Saturday shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED and relevant medical or laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and blood draws for pediatric to geriatric patients.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze samples as required by test orders.
• Ensure proper specimen packaging and temperature control for transport.
• Update patient information in systems and documentation.
• Explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and understanding.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP safety regulations and participate in trainings.
