Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of college with at least one general mathematics course preferred.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as Registered Pharmacy Technician in Illinois.
• Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
• In-house aseptic technique and cytotoxic agent handling training certification required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the work activities and training of pharmacy technicians and assists in performance appraisals.
• Evaluates and reports new technician performance to the senior clinical pharmacist.
• Suggests policy and procedure changes to improve workflow.
• Leads special projects after discussion with the senior pharmacist.
• Manages prescription processing, labeling, and inventory replenishment.
• Maintains department appearance and communicates effectively with staff.
