Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacy team in daily dispensing, inventory, and customer service. Under pharmacist supervision, you will help fill prescriptions, ensure accuracy, and assist with workflow and cash handling.

You will maintain certification, participate in training, and help coordinate clinical services with providers. A flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy, Health System Pharmacy locations, or in locations where this role is covered under a collective bargaining agreement)

Responsibilities

• Under supervision by the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy.
• Reviews and complies with Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Fills prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine, and checking for interactions.
• Assists pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
• Leads pharmacy department inventory management activities and tracks Rx KPIs.
• Supports Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in clinical services and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Manages cash handling and customer assistance at the counter.
• Provides clerical support and processes claims for third party prescription services.
