Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification required (except in Puerto Rico).
• Minimum one year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy, Health System Pharmacy locations, or in locations where this role is covered under a collective bargaining agreement)

Responsibilities

• Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
• Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems and verify accuracy.
• Identify potential drug interactions and report to pharmacist on duty.
• Assist with pharmacy department inventory management and ordering.
• Provide customer assistance and guide them to OTC products.
• Handle cash register and process sales; assist customers in locating products when possible.
• Support coordination of clinical services and Walgreens healthcare clinics.
