Qualifications

• High school graduate with Math/Science skills.
• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program and registration as RPhT or CPhT with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy within 6–18 months of hire.
• Ability to enter outpatient pharmacy prescriptions into the current computer system.
• Ability to mix chemotherapy medications and IV products.
• Ability to correctly bill for medications.
• Typing and computer skills required.
• Ability to perform short jobs and repetitive activities with accuracy.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and physical stamina requirements.

Responsibilities

• Enters and fills prescriptions timely and accurately; handles filing per legal requirements.
• Performs pharmacy billing functions and replenishes floor stock and narcotics.
• Fills physician orders manually and with the robot; delivers medications to nursing units; processes orders via tube or fax.
• Competent in IV preparation and cytotoxic safety; uses TPN equipment; conducts QA checks.
• Maintains inventory; uses ordering software; notifies buyers of discrepancies; prevents outs of meds.
• Maintains medication security and checks for outdated products; performs unit inspections.
• Completes CEUs; participates in hospital committees; supports staff.
• Maintains professional attitude and positive teamwork; supports leadership.
