The Veterans Health Administration in Alabama seeks a Pharmacy Technician for the Care in the Community (CITC) program in Tuskegee. You will handle prescription entry, coordination with pharmacists, and patient communications, ensuring proper processing of VA and Non-VA prescriptions.

Responsibilities include data entry, medication preparation, and supporting training activities; schedule is 8:00am–4:30pm; telework is not authorized. Two openings; federal employment considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Note: Only education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions may be used to qualify for Federal employment.

Responsabilités

• Prescription order entry with pharmacist verification and monitoring of lab values.
• Pharmacy data entry and processing of Non-VA prescriptions for eligibility and appropriateness.
• Communicate with patients regarding prescriptions and manage non-formulary/authorization communications.
• Input authorized prescriptions into the EHR and prepare meds for pharmacist review.
• Assist with tracking and shipping of Non-VA meds; serve as preceptor for students; perform telephone triage.
